Terms of Use

Cloud Cover · Last updated 13 August 2026

These terms govern your use of the Cloud Cover iOS app. By using the app, you agree to them. They are written to be read, not to be impenetrable.

Weather information is a forecast, not a guarantee

Cloud Cover provides weather forecasts and related information for general informational purposes. Forecasts are predictions and can be wrong. Do not rely on Cloud Cover for decisions where an inaccurate forecast could endanger life, health, or property.

This includes, without limitation: aviation, marine navigation, commercial agriculture, construction safety, emergency response, and any activity where weather conditions create a safety risk. For those purposes, use official sources and professional forecasting services.

Severe weather alerts shown in the app originate from the United States National Weather Service and are passed through without modification. Alert delivery depends on network connectivity, device settings, and third-party services, and may be delayed or fail. Cloud Cover is not an emergency alerting system and must not be treated as your only source of severe weather warnings. Always follow instructions from local emergency authorities.

Health information

UV, air quality, and pollen information in Cloud Cover is general wellness information drawn from public indices. It is not medical advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it is not a substitute for professional medical judgement. Consult a qualified healthcare provider about any health concern.

Subscriptions

Cloud Cover offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions. Current tiers and prices are shown in the app before purchase.

Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. We cannot issue refunds directly, but if something has gone wrong, contact us and we will help where we can.

Free features

Current conditions, hourly and daily forecasts, basic radar, minute-level rain forecasts for your current location, and severe weather alerts are available without payment. We do not show advertising at any tier.

Acceptable use

Please do not attempt to reverse engineer the app, interfere with its operation, circumvent subscription controls, or use automated means to extract data from our services at a scale that degrades them for others. Weather data displayed in the app is licensed from third parties and is for your personal use.

Availability

We aim to keep Cloud Cover working reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Weather data depends on third-party providers whose services may fail or change. Features may be modified or discontinued, though we will not remove features from the free tier described above without a compelling reason and clear notice.

Disclaimer of warranties

Cloud Cover is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use Cloud Cover — including any decision made in reliance on a forecast. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.

Third-party data

Forecast data is provided by Tomorrow.io. Radar imagery is provided by RainViewer. Severe weather alerts are provided by the NOAA National Weather Service. These providers are not responsible for the app, and we are not responsible for the accuracy of their data.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be noted by updating the date above and, where the change affects your rights meaningfully, in the app's release notes. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Nothing here limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection laws in your own country.
